Aceh Noodle Soup – Indonesian Typical Foods

Aceh is the wettest part of Indonesia which we called Sabang. There are so many typical foods and Aceh Noodle Soup is one of the most typical foods from Aceh. It has a big portion which can satisfy your curiosity about this food. This Aceh Noodle Soup is completed with beef and shrimp. It will make you feed up. Besides that, it contains usefulness, especially protein. The taste of it is so delicious. Do not you believe it? Then, you can try it. If you cannot go to Aceh restaurant, you can make it by yourself. Here is the recipe of Aceh Noodle Soup that you can follow.

Materials to make Aceh Noodle Soup:

  • 500 grams of wet yellow noodles
  • 1 whole crab
  • 1/4kg prawns
  • 750 ml broth
  • 150 grams of beef , diced
  • 4  garlic , thinly sliced
  • 4 red onions , thinly sliced
  • 1 tomato , cut into pieces
  • 1 stalk leek / celery , thinly sliced
  • 50 grams of bean sprouts , wash
  • 50 grams of cabbage / cabbage , thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 laurellike leaf
  • Margarine

Spices that are ground:

  • 6 red onions
  • 5 garlic
  • 2 large red chilies , seeds removed
  • 1 whole cardamom
  • 2 cm turmeric , burned
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • Salt to taste

Supplementary material Mie Aceh:

  • Cucumber pickles
  • Fried Onions

How to make Aceh Noodle Soup:

  1. Prepare margarine for sautéing, stir-fry onion, garlic, and ground spices until fragrant
  2. Put the beef, stir and cook until the meat changes color
  3. Add shrimp, crab, and broth and mix well
  4. Add leek, salt, laurel like leaf and pepper powder
  5. Cook until meat, crab and shrimp cooked
  6. If the water is reduced and the meat is tender turn the heat down
  7. Put cabbage, tomatoes and bean sprouts, then add the noodles and soy sauce
  8. Stir until all ingredients are well blended and cooked. Drained and serve

How to serve Aceh Noodle Soup:

  • Prepare a bowl , then put the noodles and sauce
  • Spread the fried onions on top
  • Serve with cucumber pickles
